Alan Greenberg, MD, FACP
Professor and Chair, Department of Internal Medicine
Alan Greenberg is the first Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Roseman College of Medicine. After working with the Founding Dean Dr. Mark Penn for several months, Alan was excited to join the interdisciplinary team developing a medical school centered upon the values of competence, compassion and service to the community; while employing a vigorous and integrated curriculum based upon active learning principles.

Dr. Greenberg is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. At Roseman College of Medicine he will assist in recruiting community-based physicians to bring their skills, knowledge, experience and interest in helping to train a future generation of physicians by participating in the educational programs at the College of Medicine. He is also working with faculty basic scientists to develop pre-clinical course objectives and content, and with other physicians to structure the clinical experiences that will constitute the first two years of the program.

Dr. Greenberg has over thirty years experience in the practice of Internal Medicine and the specialty of Infectious Diseases. His entire career has been based at municipal teaching hospitals initially on the East Coast, and for the last 13 years in Las Vegas. He has been a residency Program Director, has mentored resident clinical research projects that have been presented in national scientific meetings, and is a frequent recipient of the best clinical teacher awards. His professional interests center on antibiotic stewardship, and prevention and treatment of hospital-acquired infections. Working with local, state and federal officials, he recently helped establish an Ebola evaluation unit for the Las Vegas area.

Alan and his wife Angela have two adult children. They enjoy travel, novel culinary experiences, and the fantastic Valley sunsets.
